Designers’ Top Color Trends for 2021

With every new year comes a wave of new design trends—including newly in-demand and on-trend colors.

But what, exactly, are those colors in 2021?

A recent article from realtor.com outlined top designers’ predictions for the biggest color trends of 2021, including:

• Earth tones. Cool gray and “greige” have been go-to neutrals for some time. But in 2021, expect those cool tones to take a backseat to warmer, earthier colors, which feel more safe, cozy, and inviting.
• Ocean blue. Serene colors are a go-to for bedroom design—and in 2021, the most serene of colors? Ocean blue. Try painting the walls of your bedroom a light blue that echoes the ocean—or, for something more subtle, try incorporating it into your bedding or accents.
• Textured wallpaper. Color doesn’t have to come from paint. In 2021, expect to see textured wallpaper—with pops of color—to gain in popularity. Try using a textured wallpaper to add personality and visual interest to a smaller space, like a powder room.
